The Soul Benders began as a life long dream of Kelley's (Big Red) to sing the blues. Growing up in st.louis Kelley
was raised by a mother who loved the blues and at any time you could hear the sounds of many great blues artists playing around
her childhood home. With influences like Jimmy Reed, B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Albert King, Janis Joplin, and a whole host of
other musicians you can hear their influences in the music she writes. Along with the Soul Benders, her band, which is made
up of some of the finest artists in the country including her husband Mike Taylor on bass, create some Red hot blues. Winning the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Award in 2005 and being 3 time contestants in the International Blues Challenge
has given Big Red and Soul Benders the oportunity to play on many of the nations greatest stages including the main stage
at the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Fest, Tbone walker Fest, Stillwater Blues Fest, two time invitee to National Women
in Blues and many many Jukes througout the country. Big Red has shared the stage with many musicians throughout
the country including Willie King,Deanna Bogart,Eg Kight, Dave Riley, Super Chikan,Larry Garner, Eden Brent, Michael Burks,
Zac Harmon and many others.
