Known as Mike " Monotone" Taylor.
Mike has been playing bass since the tender age of nine. His first bass was a Hoffner "Beatle" bass which he had traded a baby blue Hangstrom guitar that his older brother Ed had given him. He is self tought ,learning by playing along with his favorite tunes. He lead his first band at  the age of 13," Lost Horizon", They were a three piece Rock group who played the schools gym and many other venues where they wowed the sold out teenage crowds. After joing and leaving the U.S. Navy , he went on to join a local Chicago band call Storm. Storm played many sold out shows including the local county fairs.  After many  years  not playing music due to an injury, Mike met and married Kelley and she encouraged him to  play music again. Together  they  have lead Big Red & The Soul Bender to  what  they are today.
